Supporting those who support others

I am a licensed clinical social worker, trauma specialist, and seasoned mental health leader with over three decades of experience serving individuals, families, and communities in New Mexico and beyond. In 2025, I founded Desert Bloom Consulting to support clinicians, leaders, and helping professionals in cultivating resilience, ethical leadership, and sustainable growth—both personally and professionally.

My career began in the early 1990s and has spanned a wide range of roles—from biofeedback therapy and public health education to outpatient psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and emergency psychiatric care. Most recently, I’ve served as the owner and lead clinician of Compass Rose Psychotherapy, a group practice I founded in 2020, where I continue to provide trauma-informed, relational psychotherapy alongside a small team of dedicated clinicians.

Alongside clinical work, I’ve spent years mentoring therapists and supporting multidisciplinary teams and trauma-informed systems within behavioral health care. I've held integral roles in outpatient mental health services, mobile crisis teams, emergency departments, and family court systems. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by professionals in high-stakes, high-demand environments—and the need for meaningful support, reflective space, and guidance grounded in lived experience.

You offer others so much— your presence, your attunement, your care.
In the rhythm of showing up for everyone else, it’s completely understandable if tending to yourself has fallen to the side.
This is simply an invitation to return to you.

MY APPROACH

With over 30 years of experience, my approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in systems thinking. I believe growth happens in spaces that are safe, curious, and grounded in real-world complexity. Whether in consultation, or in a retreat setting, I hold space for meaningful reflection, practical insight, and deep professional alignment.

Desert Bloom Consulting was born from the desire to help others flourish in desert conditions—to provide the kind of thoughtful, principled, and pragmatic consulting I would want for myself and my colleagues. Whether I’m offering consultation or retreats, my approach is collaborative, curious, and grounded in both evidence and humanity.
